Thank you to the Indiana Parks Alliance for the award of a Tom Hohman Small Project Grant to the Falls of the Ohio Foundation to repair worn carpets in the Falls of the Ohio State Park Interpretive Center Bird Viewing Room. The room has carpeted bench seating and steps for visitors to sit indoors, explore a natural habitat, and watch birdfeeders outside. The room is also outfitted with educational materials and interactive toys for families to learn more about native birds and their habitats. This is a high traffic area that is popular with families, and the carpet had become worn, particularly on the steps, creating a tripping hazard. Thanks to your generous grant, we have completed the installation of new commercial-grade carpet on the bench seating and steps that will allow visitors to safely and comfortably enjoy the space for years to come. The grant from IPA covered approximately half the carpet and installation costs, and a generous donor contributed the remaining funds to complete the project. Thank you again for being a catalyst for this improvement that enhances the visitor experience for those who visit the Falls of the Ohio State Park. We appreciate your partnership.
